Spring tea in Ramona is May 12 years ago

"The Apron Caper" is the theme for the 2007 spring tea at 2 p.m. May 12 in Ramona. The event will beheld at the Trinity Lutheran parish hall.

This annual event for women of all ages was created six years ago by the California Sisters, Jessica Gilbert and Pat Wick, who are passionate about baking, fine china, and anything that gives them a reason to wear hats!

The menu includes tasty tea sandwiches, croissants, and crackers heaped with savory morsels, scones with lemon curd and clotted cream, cheesecakes, chocolate delicacies, fresh strawberries, all presented with a selection of teas and other surprises. These homemade gourmet delights are prepared by the sisters and served by the youngsters of Ramona.

Special guest at the event is Susie Haver of Concordia who will present "The Great American Cover-up" — an amusing history of aprons.

The Ramona Spring Tea has become so well-known that it's sold out weeks in advance, so do not wait, call for reservations today 785-965-7110.
