Step up

As good citizens of Marion, it is our obligation to come to the aid of our fellow citizen when the need arises.

Last week, more than $8,000 in equipment and supplies were stolen from the press box at Warrior Stadium.

These items belonged to WTVN, a group of volunteers who try to improve the quality of life and make a difference in our community.

This group of men started to record and televise sporting events when their children were involved in school.

Most of the men's children are long gone from school but they still provide this great service.

The equipment was purchased with money from businesses and individuals in Marion. This property belonged to the community. Police chief Soyez calls this "a crime against our community."

If somebody knows something, saw something, or suspects someone, call Marion Police Department.

Yes, the equipment was insured. Yes, the show did go on Friday night. But the fact remains. The equipment was stolen and somebody knows something.
