Stolen car is recovered in Chicago, Ill.

A 30-day tag was reported stolen from a parked vehicle and possibly placed on a stolen vehicle.

At 11:15 a.m. on July 23, Jared Smith, 2252 170th, Marion, reported the theft of a 30-day temporary tag from his vehicle while parked in the 200 block of South Coble Street.

Authorities suspect the tag was placed on a 1995 Mercury Cougar owned by Mindy Ruck, 616 S. Roosevelt, Marion, when the vehicle was stolen while parked in the same area on South Coble Street.

The stolen vehicle was recovered July 26, in Chicago, Ill. There were no occupants in the vehicle at the time it was recovered, reported Marion Police Officer Duane McCarty.

The stolen vehicle was valued at $3,500.

At 9:30 p.m. July 25, officer James Parmley stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Locust Street. When the driver was asked to step out of her vehicle, she yelled and cursed. The driver was arrested for disorderly conduct.
