Suffield wins state FFA award

Braden Suffield of Marion and a member of Marion-Florence FFA Chapter, was named the State FFA Emerging Agricultural Technology — Entrepreneurial/Placement winner this past week at the state FFA convention in Manhattan.

Suffield received a $250 check and will advance to competition for national honors.

Emerging Agricultural Technology involves students gaining experiences in new and emerging agricultural technologies, such as agri-science, biotechnology lab research, computers, and other technologies not covered in any existing award categories.

Suffield's activities in Emerging Ag Technology include designing and maintaining websites for businesses as well as designing and producing promotional products including banners, business cards, shirt designs, and other printed products.

The award program is sponsored by Chevrolet, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
