LETTERS: Support United Way years ago
To the Editor:
I was pleased to read the letters from Lynn Smith and Kathy Meierhoff in the past issue of the Marion County Record. These letters recognized the value of the Girl Scout movement not only in the Marion area but also to our country. Girl Scouts DO make a difference in our community and the lives of the girls themselves.
Girl Scouts need your help to continue being a strong organization so they can do service projects like the care package drive for wounded U.S. military members in the Baghdad hospital. No tax monies support Girl Scouts.
Please contribute through the Marion County United Way fund drive, give a personal contribution to the Girl Scout Council of the Flint Hills, and buy Girl Scout cookies.
