Susanna Bruns
Susanna "Suzy" Bruns, 96, former Ramona resident, died May 15, 2007, at Logan County Manor, Oakley.
Born Feb. 15, 1911, north of Herington at the Rattlesnake Ranch, she was the daughter of Herman and Marie (Bentz) Bruns.
Her mother died when she was 15 and she raised her siblings. She worked at Tatge Chemical & Manufacturing Co. in Ramona for many years as a seamstress and worked as a cook on dude ranches in Colorado during the summers and falls.
She lived in Herington and Ramona most of her life, moving to Oakley in her later years to be near her sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert, Herman, Adolph, and Oscar; and two sisters, Bertha Lueth and Verna Closterman.
Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Lucille Bruns of Winona and Viola Bruns of Ottumwa, Iowa.
Graveside services were held Saturday afternoon at the North Tampa Cemetery with the Rev. Clark Davis officiating.
