Susie J. Ehrlich

Susie J. Ehrlich, 92, died Sept. 1, 2005, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Born July 30, 1913, in Beaver County, Okla., she was the daughter of Karl F. and Bertha (Eason) Klenk.

She lost her parents at an early age, coming to live with foster parents, Herrman and Mabel Massel near Peabody.

She attended rural grade school and Peabody High School. She worked for Draper Funeral Home until her marriage to Morris N. Ehrlich on Dec. 5, 1931, at Marion.

The couple lived near Marion, farming and trucking.

After some years of moving around on construction work, the couple came back to the Marion area. Again, she worked with her husband, farming and in the soil conservation contracting business, which they continued until retirement.

In 1965, they moved to town from their farm south of Marion.

She joined Emmanuel Baptist Church, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, and sang in the church choir. She was a member of Ourslerites EHU and Marionettes Campers and Hikers Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; foster parents; husband; son, Morris Lee; three brothers, and four sisters.

Survivors include a son, Donald and Judy Ehrlich of Emporia; daughter, Donna and Bob Kelly of Marion; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, with the Rev. David Branson officiating.

Vocal selections were sang by Greg Carlson. Rose Davidson was organist.

Congregation hymn was "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

Casket bearers were Ronald Ehrlich, Jered Erhlich, John Vinduska, Patrick Kelly, Lee Ehrlich, and Justin Stutesman.

Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Marion Manor.
