Sylvia Burns
Sylvia O. Burns, 82, died Aug. 19, 2005, at Emporia Rehabilitation Center.
Born May 13, 1923, at Ramona, she was the daughter of Elijah and Clara Belle (Smith) Sill.
She was a production worker for Coleman Company, Wichita, until her retirement.
Since the 1940s, she lived in Wichita, and then moved to Emporia in 2003.
She married and later divorced Junior Cook. She then married William Burns. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edwin Cook; two sisters, Jennie Smith and Hazel Adams; and three brothers, Everett Sill, Francis Sill, and Raleigh Sill.
Survivors include a niece and principle caregiver, Mary Ann White; brother, Leonard Sill of Mesa, Ariz.; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday at Lincolnville Cemetery with Pastor Jim Slack officiating.
