Tabor basketball inks talented Centre High School graduate

Dustin Burnett recently signed with the Tabor College men's basketball and track and field programs.

The 6-2 guard from Lincolnville was the team leader for Centre High School in points, assists, and steals for two consecutive years, 2005 and 2006, and rebounds in 2006. He was named First Team All League in 2005 and 2006 as well.

"Dustin is a very skilled player who has already developed many of the skills required to compete on the college level," said Don Brubacher, head men's basketball coach. "We are extremely pleased to have him as a member of the Tabor basketball program."

His success in Centre's track and field program led him to fourth place at state for the 800m in 2005. In addition, he qualified for state in the 400m and 4x800. In 2006, he qualified for the 800m.

In 2005 and 2006, he was the 400m league champ, and earned second place in the league for the 800m.

Off the court and field, Burnett was on the highest honor roll and was an Army Reserve Scholar-Athlete.

He is the son of Mary Hewitt, Lincolnville.
