Tajchman, Zeiner named MHS students of the month

Marion High School seniors Kari Tajchman and Joel Zeiner have been honored by school staff as students of the month for October.

Tajchman is the current president of the MHS Student Council, and is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. She has been active in varsity sports, cheerleading, band, jazz band, choir, flag corps, school musicals, FEA, youth court and forensics. Outside of school she has been active in Girl Scouts and a drug awareness program. She is the daughter of Kay and Charles Tajchman of Marion, and has four siblings, Alesha, Heather, Heath, and Amy.

In his fourth year of playing in the marching band, Zeiner has become the acknowledged leader of the band's specialized drum line. He has been a member of the jazz band for three years, and has been honored with selections to district band and district jazz band. Zeiner also competed, one year, in informative speaking for the MHS forensics team. The son of Ty Zeiner and Janet Zeiner of Marion, he has a brother, Brad, and two sisters, Chelsea and Julia.
