Approximately 200 attended the Agri-Producers annual meeting Saturday at the senior center. The dinner was served by the women of Saint John Lutheran Church.

Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion and Leona Kleiber were Sunday dinner guests of Ruby Vinduska in celebration of Terry 's birthday.

Cecilia Rziha of Hays was a weekend guest of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie.

Tom and Dee Duggan and Jim Clemmer attended a Lions district meeting Friday in Manhattan. The occasion featured an ethnic food festival.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna attended the basketball game Friday evening at Centre. They went especially to enjoy the performances of the Stikas' grandchildren. Anna Weber was one of the young graduates of the cheer clinic who performed at half time. James Weber and Nikki Stenzel played in the band.

Leona Kleiber and Lynn Kleiber, Andrea and Nicholas enjoyed supper out Saturday evening in Lost Springs. Later Leona visited Peggy, Lynn, Andrea, and Nicholas at their home.

Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington were Thursday overnight guests of her mother, Adeline Bernhardt, en route to a weekend in Kansas City. They were Adeline's lunch guests Sunday on their return trip.

Bev Reid of rural Marion and Edna Backhus were among those attending a home and garden party Friday evening at the home of Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro.

James and Anna Weber were Friday overnight guests of their grandparents, Frank and Anna Mae Stika.

Andrew Hajek and Jill Fenske won first place with improvised duet acting at a forensics meet in Marion Thursday evening. Julie Rziha placed fourth in humorous solo acting.

Georgia Spohn visited Marguerite Goertz and her daughter Benita Thursday in Hillsboro.

Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna were hosts Thursday evening for a surprise birthday party for Ronnie Hanschu in Hope. A large crowd attended including Burma Hanschu of Herington, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, and Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion Thursday afternoon and also attended a farewell party for Ruth Faulk, who will be returning to her home in Texas after helping out as temporary administrator at the home for nine months. Later in the afternoon Adeline visited Lorraine Havlik at her home.

Tom and Dee Duggan went to Abilene Feb. 15 for the visitation for Barbara Timm at the Danner Funeral Home.

Leona Kleiber spent Feb. 11-18 with Dean and Becky Routh, Melody, Allison, and Danielle of Augusta. They all attended Butler County 4-H Day Feb. 12 at the Butler County Community College in El Dorado. The Routh girls took part in a number of events. Melody received five top blues and four blues. Allison earned seven top blues and two blues, and Danielle took home six top blues and three blues. On Saturday all attended Allison and Melody's basketball game in Augusta. Becky and daughters and Leona attended a meeting of Lily Lake 4-H Club on Monday evening. Melody presented her public speaking 101 talk, Allison played a banjo solo, and Danielle gave a demonstration on how to make an Award Board. On Friday the Rouths and Leona attended the Butler County spelling bee in El Dorado, where Allison represented the learning co-op.

Dee Duggan entertained the Red Hat Ladies Feb. 16 with a luncheon at her home. Those present were Phyllis Allen, Alice Bell, Adeline Bernhardt, Joyce Cox, Rose Mary Deines, Liz Monnington, Sue Olson, Betty Schlesener, Karolyn Schlesener, and Deb Hall.

Jim and Mary Clemmer returned home Feb. 14 from a weekend in Florida where they represented their city in an exchange of visits between the two Tampas. They met with Mayor Pam Ioreo, who presented them with the key to the city, Tampa tee shirts and a combination letter opener/bookmark. Jim gave her a Tampa coffee mug and Ed Costello's centennial history. They also visited Don and Rita Carlson and Megan. Megan had been one of the Girl Scouts who visited Tampa in 1998, and her family escorted the Clemmers around the city. A highlight was going with the Carlsons to Madiera Beach and walking in the Gulf of Mexico. The Clemmers got to spend some time with their niece, Marilyn Daily, and her friend, Karen Mallory, of Winter Haven, Fla. About a month ago they had heard from a second grade class at Gorrie Elementary School that wanted information about the Kansas Tampa. Rusty Buchanan, their teacher, brought three of the students (Matthew Rodriguez, Emma Napper, and Eli Reback) to the hotel to visit them. Jack Harris, the WFLA producer who sponsored the exchange, his wife Joy, and son Jackson also visited them at the hotel, took them to lunch, and drove them to the airport. En route to and from Florida, the Clemmers were overnight guests of Paul Sharp and visited Chris and Dahn Walker and Cierra in Wichita.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner out and a movie Feb. 15 in Salina in celebration of Lucille's birthday. She also received many cards and phone calls.

Sunflower Senior Citizens met Feb. 15 at the senior center. The hall was beautifully decorated with a Valentine theme by the hostesses, Helen Costello and Margaret Jirak. Others present were Adeline Bernhardt, Magdalen Dvorak, Martha Melcher, Eleanor Murphy, Carole Spohn, Ruby Vinduska, Edna Mueller, Tom and Dee Duggan, and Jane Vajnar. Following a potluck dinner and business meeting, the group played card bingo.

Georgia Spohn and Jane Vajnar were among those attending Learning in Retirement Feb. 14 at Tabor College. Bruce Jost, who had gone to Ukraine with the Ambassadors, an evangelizing basketball team, talked about his trip with Dr. Richard Kyle, who had been a Fulbright scholar in the Ukraine, giving some background information.

The American Legion Auxiliary met Feb. 14 for lunch at Stone City Cafe in Marion. Those present were Bonnie Funk, Beryl Steiner, Margaret Vinduska, Ruby Vinduska, Dee Duggan, JoAnn Nowak, and Jane Vajnar.

Deb and Kaylee Hall of Herington spent the afternoon of Feb. 13 with Tom and Dee Duggan. In the evening they all went to the sweetheart dinner in Hope sponsored by the Catholic youth organization. Both Deb and Kaylee won door prizes.
