Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber were among the Tampa people who attended funeral services for Fred Utech Tuesday at Hope. Utech's family has the sincere sympathy of the Tampa community.

Irene Beames, Irma Benda, and Anna Mae Stika enjoyed dinner out Tuesday in Durham.

Tom and Dee Duggan visited Nikki Stenzel Monday evening at her home.

Georgia Spohn met her cousin, Lenora Graham of Florence, at Hillsboro Monday morning. They attended the Tabor Learning in Retirement program featuring Don and Betty Fruechting talking about their experiences working with the United Methodist Volunteers in Missions. After the program, they enjoyed dinner out.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended Mary Lorson's funeral Monday at Elmo.

Sydney Ashton Smith, daughter of Jesse and Ashton Smith, was baptized Sunday morning at Saint John's Lutheran Church. Sponsors were Rustyn Kerbs and Brad and Amy Pagenkopf. Relatives gathered in the church basement for a brunch after the service.

Sunday dinner guests of Gary and Carole Spohn were Ryan Spohn, Adam and Lauren, and Georgia Spohn.

Lori Moldenhauer and Anna Mae Stika attended the Methodist church in Hope Sunday morning and heard Lisa Hanschu sing. They stayed for a potluck dinner after the church service.

Those enjoying dinner out Sunday in Wichita to help Bev Reid of Marion celebrate her birthday were Tom Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Kelsie Penner of Hillsboro, Jason Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Paul and Edna Backhus. After dinner they gathered at the Jay home for dessert.

Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan met Darla Hall and Adam of Lee's Summit, Mo., in Lawrence Sunday. The Halls attended the Kansas University national championship victory parade and the awards ceremony at Allen Field House.

Lauren Spohn was honored with a family party celebrating her fifth birthday Saturday afternoon at the home of her grandparents, Gary and Carole Spohn. Other guests were Ryan Spohn and Adam, Steve Spohn, Sheri Kersh, and Georgia Spohn. The others watched Lauren open her gifts and enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream.

The Centre girls' ensemble earned a I rating at the regional music festival in Hillsboro Saturday. Julie Rziha also received a I on a vocal solo. They are eligible to compete at the state festival Saturday in Wichita. Those earning II ratings were Aurora Salamone on her vocal solo, the boys' ensemble, and the large group.

Among those attending the junior and senior high school band and choir concert at Centre High School Thursday evening were Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lori Moldenhauer, and Lisa Hanschu. Rustyn Kerbs, Nikki Stenzel, and Anna Weber were performing.

The Tampa Lions met at the Red Barn in Durham Thursday noon. Those present included Tom and Dee Duggan and Gary and Carole Spohn.

Tampa women attending the monthly meeting of King's Daughters at the Durham Baptist church Thursday evening were Autumn Chisholm, Mildred Hamm, Eleanor Herbel, and Jane Vajnar.

Ramona Beisel, Adeline Bernhardt, Dee Duggan, and Leona Kleiber joined other Red Hat members Wednesday at Marion Senior Center, where they ate dinner and presented a musical program. En route home most of the group stopped at Pilsen for a tour of the church.

Tom Duggan attended the Lincolnville senior citizen's meeting Wednesday as representative of the Silver-Haired Legislature.

Sunflower Senior Citizens gathered for their monthly potluck and meeting Tuesday at the senior center with Shirley and Carol Zaideman as hostesses. Others present were Jim and Mary Clemmer, Don Witt, Tom Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Margaret Jirak, Leona Kleiber, and Jane Vajnar.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., came Wednesday to spend some time visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole en route home after wintering in Arizona.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence in Hillsboro Monday. They attended Tabor College's Learning in Retirement program about the Dyck Arboretum and then enjoyed dinner out.

Leona Kleiber visited Pearl Belton Monday afternoon.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer enjoyed dinner out in Junction City Sunday after church.

A good crowd turned out for the community fun night Sunday evening at the senior center. This was the last fun night until fall.

Georgia Spohn visited Marguerite Goertz in Hillsboro Saturday morning.

Kaylee Hall of Herington accompanied her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan to Lee's Summit, Mo., Saturday to visit Darla Hall and Adam. They attended a spaghetti supper sponsored by Adam's Boy Scout troop Saturday evening and returned home Sunday.

Many Tampa people attended the rosary and funeral for Ed Costello Friday evening and Saturday. Although Costello lived in Marion, he had grown up in this community and later was in charge of the Tampa State Bank for many years. His many friends here grieve with his family.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika spent a lot of time last week at the home of Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna cooking for the family while Lisa was away on business.

A group of women enjoying dinner out in Newton Thursday included Helen Costello, Patty Ingalls and her grandchildren of Mulvane, Bonnie Crandall, Shirley Hamm, Lorene Kleiber, and Beryl Steiner of Hillsboro, Adeline Bernhardt, Dee Duggan, Eleanor Herbel, and Leona Kleiber.

Tom Duggan attended a meeting in Concordia Thursday as the Marion County representative of the Silver-Haired Legislature.

Pastor Clark Davis, Cindy Bentz, Adeline Bernhardt, Joyce Medley, Betty Mueller, Edna Mueller, and Leona Kleiber met at the Hillsboro Community Medical Center's long-term care unit April 2. Pastor gave a message, and the women brought cookies and helped the residents sing hymns.
