Winners have been announced in the Father's Day contest sponsored by the Tampa Community Association. Timothy Stuchlik submitted the winning essay in the fourth through sixth grade group. Callie Riffel won in the kindergarten through third grade group. Both will receive dinner with their fathers at Butch's Diner.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna enjoyed a Father's Day picnic at Herington Lake.

About 80 young people from Holy Family Parish, including many from Tampa, attended Totus Tuus classes in Pilsen last week.

Andrea Kleiber spent several days last week in Emporia, where she attended a camp for future teachers at Emporia State University.

Anna Mae Stika, Lori Moldenhauer, and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna went to Wah-Shun-Gah Days Saturday in Council Grove in celebration of Anna Mae's upcoming birthday.

Georgia Spohn visited Saturday with Marguerite Goertz in Hillsboro.

A group of women enjoying dinner out Thursday in Hillsboro included Bonnie Crandall, Tillie Hein, Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Eleanor Herbel, Helen Costello, Dee Duggan, Lorene Kleiber, and Agnes Steinert. They celebrated Adeline's birthday, which was June 6, and Dee's birthday, which will be July 22.

James and Anna Weber attended a picnic Saturday in the park at Ramona sponsored by the fire department.

Leona Kleiber was a Wednesday supper guest of Lynn and Peggy Kleiber.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Tuesday morning with Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion.

Lori Moldenhauer and Lisa Hanschu spent from Monday to Thursday in Houston, Texas. Frank and Anna Mae Stika spent the days with James and Anna Weber.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn spent Wednesday in Newton where they enjoyed dinner out and shopping.

Stephanie Classen, Eleanor Murphy, and Martha Melcher were June 13 evening visitors of Helen Schwartzman.

Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie attended a family day in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent in Wichita held June 13 at the elementary school in Schulte. Other family members of Sister Mary Cora Rziha attending were Wayne and Shannon Rziha and Cecilia Marie of Tulsa, Okla., Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph and Timothy of Atchison, Jim and Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita, David Rziha of Council Grove, and Janie Rziha of Williamsburg.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn visited June 13 with Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren of Manhattan. Additional guests were Claudette's parents, Jim and Sue Ferguson of Marlow, Okla. All enjoyed supper out in the evening.

Many Tampa people attended the wedding and reception June 12 of Jon Herbel and Ashlee Bowman at the Christian church in Marion followed by a dance at the community center in Pilsen. Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt were among those attending the Herbel-Bowman wedding, reception and dance.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna enjoyed dinner out and a movie June 13 in Salina as a belated celebration of the Stikas' wedding anniversary.

Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro was a June 13 dinner guest of her mother, Lois Sklenar.

John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina and Robyn Hoff and Morgan of San Benito, Texas, visited June 13 with Helen Schwartzman.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Council Grove Lake on Tuesday to join a group of railroad friends and their wives. They met at Kit Carson Cove, where Mr. and Mrs. Snapp from Texas were camping. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Daniels and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Herbic of Alma, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ruhl of Council Grove, Gordon Smith of Lindsborg, and Mike Mayo and Jeff Kilmer of Herington. Later most of them ate out in Council Grove followed by cake and ice cream at the Snapps' campground.

Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Mary Christiansen, and Leona Kleiber met other members of their Red Hat Club June 10 at Mr. K's Farmhouse Restaurant in Abilene for lunch. After the meal they went to Russell Stover's, where they could watch candy being made. They also learned some interesting facts about the factory and the candy-making process. Leona was hostess.

Ida Benda of Madera, Calif., and her son, Scott Benda, of Boise, Idaho, were June 11 afternoon visitors of Helen Schwartzman.

Leona Kleiber was a June 10 supper guest of Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Amanda, Andrea, and Nicholas.

Leona Kleiber accompanied Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Amanda and Nicholas to the Diocese of Wichita Religious Emblems Ceremony and reception at Saint James Catholic Church June 6 in Augusta. Becky Routh and Allison joined them. Nicholas Kleiber, Casey Kristek, and Benjamin Wirtz received their Parvuli Dei Emblem in scouting.
