Ron and Rose Jirak were hosts for the Jirak family reunion Saturday and Sunday at the Tampa park. John Wayne's 100th birthday was the theme for the party. Prizes were offered for the best John Wayne look-alikes. Jesse Brunner won the prize for the adults and Conrad Vajnar for the children. Tampa youngsters competed this past week in a coach pitch baseball tournament at Herington. They are Cole Srajer, Max Svoboda, Austin Peterson, Rylee Brown, and Zach Barney.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs attended the Gooding family reunion Sunday at the Marion County Lake.

Grant Srajer played on the Cottonwood Valley League All-Stars team in the state Cal Ripken tournament for boys 12 years old and under Friday through Sunday at Wellington. They won over Hesston Friday, but lost both their games Saturday.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika attended the Tri-County Fair in Herington Thursday and Friday evenings. Their granddaughter, Anna Weber, was in the parade Thursday and performed with her dance class Friday. They met Lisa Hanschu and James at the fair.

Saint John Lutheran Church vacation Bible school students presented a program Friday noon. A group of Lutheran Women's Missionary League members served lunch.

A number of Tampa people attended funeral services for Delbert Hamm at the Durham Baptist church Thursday morning.

Grant Srajer played on the Cottonwood Valley All-Stars team in the Cal Ripken Tournament for 12-year-olds Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday evenings at Peabody. Although they lost their first game, they came back to win the second and third games and qualify to compete in the state tournament at Wellington starting Thursday. Grant's grandparents, Ted and Maxine Zielinsky and Don and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., and his great-grandmother, Tillie Hein, were all there cheering him on. One of the team's coaches, Clayton Garnica, lived in Tampa through much of his childhood.

Georgia Spohn met her cousin, Lenora Graham of Florence, in Hillsboro Tuesday for dinner out.

Anna Weber spent Monday through Wednesday with her grandparents, Frank and Anna Mae Stika.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs met Elmer and Joyce Gooding and Carrie Faulkner, Clayton, Carsten, Sage, and Campbell from Arizona in McPherson Monday evening for supper out.

Edna Mueller and Adeline Bernhardt visited Doris Bernhardt and her houseguests, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Mueller and family of Corpus Christi, Texas, in Marion Monday. They had been Edna's guests from Thursday to Saturday. Greg is the grandson of both Edna and Doris. They also called on Lorraine Havlik and Jean Pierce.

Kristin Mueller and Sara Hamm were honored with a bridal shower Sunday afternoon at the home of Don and Francie Mueller. Hostesses were Carla Hajek, Kris Srajer, and Jeanne Rziha. Special guests included the honorees' mothers, Francie Mueller and Myrna Hamm, and their grandmothers, Theresa Klenda and Valera Hamm.

Sunday dinner guests of Lois Sklenar were Greg Sklenar of Wichita and Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro.

Sunday supper and evening guests of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs were Reuben and Cristy Kerbs and Charlotte of Wichita, Jesse and Ashton Smith of Pilsen, and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn.

Jeanne Rziha met Wayne and Shannon Rziha, Cecilia Marie, Anthony, and Daniel of Tulsa, Okla., in Wichita Thursday. Cecilia Marie and Anthony accompanied her home to spend a few days with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, Cecilia and Julie. Wayne, Shannon, and Daniel were Sunday overnight guests and took the children home.

A number of Tampa people attended a potluck dinner following morning worship at the Durham Baptist Church Sunday. The quarterly business meeting followed.

Lucille Kerbs visited Connie Thompson and Allison in Abilene Saturday, and they enjoyed dinner out.

Andrea Klenda and Leona Kleiber visited Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina Friday afternoon.

Enid Albrecht visited her sister, Georgia Spohn, Friday, and they enjoyed dinner at the café.

Guests of Frank and Anna Mae Stika for a Fourth of July barbecue were Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna, and Shayna Kremeier. After dinner all went to Ramona for the Independence Day celebration. Anna was in the parade and performed a dance number during the street entertainment between the parade and fireworks.

Gary and Carole Spohn spent Independence Day with their son, Ryan Spohn of Manhattan and took in the holiday activities at Wamego.

Phyllis and Rod Mueller were hosts for a Fourth of July cookout at their home. Guests were Jim and Sandy Heath, Tammy Lauffer, Logan, Dustin and Alan Heath and Ron and Jody Heath, Dani and Tyler of Salina, Jeff and Sherry Schimming and Heather of McPherson, Tom and Bev Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Kelsie Penner of Hillsboro, Don and Ophelia Jacobson and Greg Jacobson of Hope, Pastor Clark and Kathy Davis, Paul and Edna Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Jason Backhus.

Many Tampa people attended the Fourth of July celebration at Ramona. Events included a morning run, horseshoe pitching tournament, three-on-three basketball tournament, parade, street entertainment, hayrack rides, and fireworks.

Edna Mueller marched with the Utech family, whose parade entry took first place. They showed off a truck which Edna's father had bought about 80 years ago in Ramona.

Daniel and Melissa Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie were hosts for a Fourth of July barbecue supper at their home. The event was in honor of Armando and Jill Tarin, who are visiting from Orlando, Fla., and Daniel, who has an upcoming birthday. Other guests included Ruby Vinduska and Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion, Monte and Sara Stuchlik, Ross and Megan Stuchlik and Leona Kleiber. The evening ended with fireworks.

Georgia Spohn visited Marguerite Goertz of Hillsboro Wednesday afternoon.

Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole recently attended a family reunion at Mahoney National Park at Omaha, Neb. Deanna Hastings of Conway, Ark., brought them home and stayed through the Independence Day holiday. Tillie Hein was an additional Sunday dinner guest.

Adeline Bernhardt was among those attending the Independence Day celebration at Ramona.

Many Tampa people attended the funeral of Mike Holub Tuesday morning at Pilsen. His family has the sympathy of the Tampa community.

Jane Vajnar visited Ruby Vinduska Tuesday afternoon at Saint Luke Living Center, Marion.

Gerald Weyand of Norton visited Reuben and Lucille Kerbs Monday morning.

Tim and Amanda Baxa of Manhattan were Sunday evening visitors of her grandmother, Leona Kleiber.

Barney Bernhardt was a Sunday afternoon visitor of his mother, Adeline Bernhardt. They joined Linda and Megan Bernhardt, James Haynes and Josh Miller of Wichita at the Herington swimming pool for a birthday party for Kelly and Krissy Bernhardt of El Dorado. Others helping them celebrate were Carrie, Bryan, Kevin, and Lexy Bernhardt of El Dorado, Carol Kellogg and Toby and Angie Osborne and family of Herington, Ed and Betty Reidy of Hope, and other friends.

After swimming they all enjoyed a picnic supper with birthday cake and watched the honorees open their gifts.

Sunday after-church visitors of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs were Jesse and Ashton Smith of Pilsen and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn.

Many Tampa people attended the funeral of Bob Kleinschmidt Saturday morning at the Lutheran church at Lincolnville. He taught at Centre High School for many years. The Tampa community grieves with his family.

Peggy Kleiber of Salina and Amanda Baxa of Manhattan visited Leona Kleiber Saturday afternoon.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs visited Tim and Marchelle Kerbs and April of Salina Sunday.

Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki enjoyed supper out and a movie in Newton Saturday evening.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended a swim meet in Abilene Saturday morning to see their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall of Herington, compete. Afterward, Deb Hall, Kaylee, and the Duggans went to Salina for dinner out and a movie.

Bev and Tom Reid of Marion, Mike and Jennifer Jay and Kelsie Penner of Hillsboro, Jason Backhus, Brad Backhus, and Paul and Edna Backhus enjoyed dinner out in Salina Sunday in celebration of Tom's birthday.

Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington were Friday overnight and Saturday guests of her mother, Adeline Bernhardt. They were returning from a four-week vacation seeing many of the sights on the east coast. They also visited friends in New York, Maine, and Canada. They came to pick up their dog, Oscar, who had stayed with Adeline while they were gone.

Lucille Kerbs was in Abilene Friday and Saturday. She joined with Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor to have a garage sale.

A group of women enjoyed dinner out in Abilene Friday in celebration of the June and July birthdays of Adeline Bernhardt (June 6) and Dee Duggan (July 22). Others present were Lorene Kleiber, Leona Kleiber, Eleanor Herbel, Tillie Hein, and Beryl Steiner. After lunch, some of the group went to Russell Stover's and Steinhauser's.
