Tampa Community Association will sponsor a Christmas festival at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the senior center. Beverages will be furnished, and families are encouraged to bring snacks to share.

Lions Club will give bags of goodies to the children. Entertainment will include games and carol singing. Holy Redeemer Altar Society will sponsor a silent auction as a benefit for the Thompson family, whose mother and breadwinner recently was killed in an auto accident.

The community association has decided not to sponsor a contest for Christmas lighting this year, but encourages residents to decorate their homes. The city's new decorations are up, and Tampa has a reputation to uphold for beautifully decorated homes.

The main part of the memorial to Tampa High School has been completed. The alumni committee in charge of the memorial hopes to add a patio with a bench or two and some landscaping, but the memorial wall is finished.

Several Tampa people attended the community Thanksgiving service in the school gymnasium at Hillsboro Sunday evening.

Congratulations and apologies to Gloria Belton. Your correspondent has learned belatedly that she was on the Future Farmers of America parliamentary law team which took second place in a recent competition. The team will go on to state competition. Her name was omitted in last week's news.
