Tampa: Lutheran women visit HCMC

Members of St. John's Lutheran Women's Missionary League visited the long term care unit of Hillsboro Community Medical Center Wednesday afternoon and took cookies to the residents. Pastor Clark Davis led a devotion and residents and LWML members joined in group singing. All sang "Happy Birthday" to Martha Klein and presented her with a rose in a bud vase in honor of her 90th birthday Oct. 7. Members attending included Adeline Bernhardt, Ellen Erickson, Alma Meyer, Betty Mueller, Edna Mueller, Joyce Medley, and Leona Kleiber.

Lynn and Peggy Kleiber of Salina and Adeline Bernhardt were Tuesday evening supper guests of Leona Kleiber and her houseguest, Ellen Erickson of Tacoma, Wash.

Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Monday at Hillsboro. They attended Learning in Retirement at Tabor College and enjoyed lunch out. The speaker was Landon Fulmer from Senator Sam Brownback's staff, who recently accompanied the senator on a fact-finding trip to parts of Asia destroyed by the tsunami.

Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Ellen Erickson were Monday evening supper guests of Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion.

Lydia Evans of Haysville was a Monday afternoon visitor of Leona Kleiber and her houseguest, Ellen Erickson.

Jesse and Ashton Smith of Salina came to the home of Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn Sunday afternoon to open their wedding gifts. Others present were Phil and Jan Smith and Lorene Smith of Lincolnville and Reuben and Lucille Kerbs. Wedding cake and other refreshments were served.

Cecilia Marie Rziha of Tulsa, Okla., spent the weekend with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie, while her parents attended a retreat in Wichita. Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter joined them on Friday.

After-church visitors of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs on Sunday were Jesse and Ashton Smith of Salina and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn.

Kaylee Hall of Herington and Tom and Dee Duggan went Saturday to Octoberfest at Lincolnville.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lisa Hanschu, and James and Anna and Lori Moldenhauer went Saturday to Lincolnville for Octoberfest. Nikki Stenzel marched with the Centre High School band in the parade.

Family members attending the junior high football game Thursday evening to watch Rustyn Kerbs play were Reuben and Cristy Kerbs of Wichita, Jesse and Ashton Smith of Salina, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, and Russ and Julie Kerbs.
