Most people in the Tampa community spent their time cutting and hauling wheat this week, so other news is rather sparse. Yields seemed to vary more than usual from field to field. A few reported better than average yields, but more ranged from fair to poor. As a community service the Tampa Lions Club furnished free ice water Wednesday and Thursday to grain haulers on the way to the elevator. They also served hamburgers and iced tea. The Lions are appreciative of the community's support for this endeavor. They are making tentative plans for a repeat performance during milo harvest, if they feel there is support for the effort.
