Tampa: Women attend retreat Friday at Hesston

Tampa women attending a Baptist women's retreat at Crosswinds Conference Center in Hesston Friday evening and Saturday were Eleanor Herbel, Mildred Hamm, Autumn Chisholm, and Jane Vajnar. Nadine Friesen of Hillsboro was the retreat leader.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Wednesday at Hillsboro for dinner out.
Betty Mueller and Lois Sklenar went Wednesday to Salina.
Sunflower Senior Citizens met at the senior center Tuesday for their monthly potluck and business meeting. Tillie Hein won a door prize furnished by the hosts, Tom and Dee Duggan. The group played card bingo after the meeting. Others present included Jim and Mary Clemmer, Martha Melcher, Magdalen Dvorak, Margaret Jirak, Adeline Bernhardt, Ruby Vinduska, Leona Kleiber, and Bonnie Crandall.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended the elementary school (K-5) program Tuesday evening at Herington. Their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall was one of the students performing.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence Monday at Hillsboro. They attended the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and enjoyed dinner out. Gracia Burnham was the featured speaker.
Andrea Kleiber was a Sunday afternoon visitor of her grandmother, Leona Kleiber.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended the Knights of Columbus dinner Sunday evening at Kingfisher Steakhouse and Lounge. Tom received an award as a 50-year member of the Knights.
Ashton and Jesse Smith of Salina and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn were after-church visitors Sunday of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and Lisa Hanschu and Anna attended the wedding Saturday of Wendy Rudolph and Nathan Funk at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with a reception and dance following at the community center in Pilsen. Ronnie Hanschu joined them for the reception. Lori was the organist and Anna one of the candlelighters. Lori, Lisa, and Anna also attended the Friday evening rehearsal dinner.
Kaylee Hall of Herington was a Friday overnight guest of Tom and Dee Duggan.
Women enjoying dinner out in Hillsboro Thursday included Shirley Hamm, Beryl Steiner, Bonnie Crandall, Helen Costello, Leona Kleiber, Dee Duggan, Eleanor Herbel, Adeline Bernhardt, Tillie Hein, and hostesses, Lorene Kleiber and Agnes Steinert.
Willis to be honored Saturday at reception
A reception for Connee Willis will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hillsboro Senior Center, 212 N. Main, Hillsboro.
Willis resigned the position of director of the nutrition program and activities at the center after serving 16.5 years.
A money tree will be presented to her.
Seniors citizens
to meet at Lincolnville
Senior Citizens of Marion County, Inc. will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville.
Lincolnville seniors will serve lunch and reservations must be made by today (Wednesday) by calling Evelyn Matz, president, at (620) 924-5439 or department for elderly office at (620) 382-3580.
If transportation is needed, call the office by Thursday.
