Therapists will assist on Extreme Makeover set

Local massage therapy students and graduates of Butler Community College of Marion, will literally be rubbing shoulders with a television crew of a popular television show.

The therapists will donate their time by providing massages to the crew and volunteers of Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

The crew is at Rose Hill this week filing the construction of a new house for a family who lost their home when a gas leak caused an explosion and destroyed it.

Approximately 100 massage therapists will work four-hour shifts through Saturday at the site.

Donations received by the therapists will be donated back to the family.

Carolan McFarland, program developer from Butler of Marion, and Sheri Bowersox, lead instructor from Butler of Andover, organized the event.

Twenty Marion students and graduates will work from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday.
