Three head coach positions open at Centre High School

In a 5-2 vote, USD 397 board of education approved Monday a revised list of supplemental duties for the 2006-07 school year. Jennifer Kassebaum and Leona Hajek were opposed.

Among the positions the list leaves open are the boys' and girls' varsity basketball coaches and the varsity head football coach.

The openings were announced after the board met in executive session for more than two hours to discuss personnel. Superintendent Bob Kiblinger was included in the session, and Bud Peterson, Greg Wyatt, and Russ Hake were called in at separate times.

In an earlier 40-minute executive session, the board heard from Jerry Plett, Scott Gutsch, Corky and Kathy Bloom, and William Turner, who were called in separately. They told this reporter they were seeking a change in basketball coaches.
