Tree lighting ceremony is Nov. 28 years ago

The Marion community is invited to attend the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at 6 p.m. Nov. 28.

Prior to the ceremony, the community will be greeted with Christmas music played by the Marion High School brass ensemble.

At the nativity scene, the Christmas story will be told by the Rev. Bill Sherfy. Children of the community are invited to take part by "singing at the manger."

As people move to encircle the Christmas tree, individual candles will be lighted, carols sung, and the tree will come alive with lights.

Following the festivities, hot cocoa will be served by the 20th Century Club while the brass ensemble plays Christmas music.

Everyone is invited to take part in this community event.
