Turner, Moffitt are married

Kathryn Aschley Turner and Jon Joseph Moffit of Houston, Texas, were united in marriage at 6 p.m. April 4, 2004, at City Club, Golden Bear Plaza in North Palm Beach, Fla. Rabbi Solomon Rothstein performed the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are John Turner of Houston, Texas, and Andrea Turner of Bellaire, Texas. Grandparents are Charlotte Himmel of Palm Beach, Fla., Herbert S. Ascherman Sr. of Potomac, Md., and Mrs. L.I. Turner of Newport News, Va., and the late Mr. L.I. Turner.

Parents of the groom are Frank and Jan Moffitt of Marion. Grandparents are Glen and Olive Atkinson of Salinas, Calif., and the late James Moffitt and Nellie Moffitt of Tampa.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a princess gown fashioned of white silk designed by Marisa. The strapless fitted bodice featured an overlay of Alencon style lace beaded with delicate seed pearls and clear crystals over the entire gown. The low cut back fell to a slim a-line skirt with a chapel train. To complement her gown, she chose a veil edged in lace rosettes and carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, and stephanotis.

Serving as maid of honor was Sarah Theriault of Corpus Christi, Texas. Bridesmaids were Sara Moffitt of Nashville, Tenn., and Melissa Moffitt of Kansas City, both sisters of the groom, and Leah Won of Pasadena, Texas. They wore full-length gowns of orchid and carried bouquets of orchid colored roses.

Junior bridesmaid was Danielle McKinsey of Santa Maria, Calif., cousin of the groom. Flower girl was Rebecca Ascherman of Pittsburg, Pa., cousin of the bride.

Kris Nitengale of Mulberry, Fla, was the best man. Groomsmen were David Turner of Houston, Texas, brother of the bride, Jamie LaBouliere of Houston, Texas, and Rick Klein of Berlin, Germany.

Shaun Craft of Marion was the usher. Josh Ascherman of Pittsburg, Pa., cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Musicians on the harp and cello provided music during the ceremony.

A dinner reception and dance followed the ceremony. Disc jockey Ray Lenahan led the festivities during the reception.

The bride is a graduate of Baron Academy High School and is attending Houston Community College in Houston, Texas.

The groom is a graduate of Marion High School and attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence. He works for The Buckle in Houston, Texas.

The couple is planning a trip to Hilton Head, S.C., this summer and Aruba in the fall for their honeymoon. They will make their home in Houston, Texas.
