Two Warrior golfers off to state
Travis Hett and Jake Bredemeier will be playing Monday at the 3A state golf tournament in Hays.
The Marion High School duo qualified for the tournament after finishing in a tie for seventh place at the Salina regional.
Both golfers finished the 18-hole round with 81, and had to head to a playoff hole to determine who would take seventh. Hett defeated his teammate on the second playoff hole to earn a seventh-place medal. Bredemeier had to settle for eighth, but it still meant a trip to state.
Hett, a junior, will be going for the second straight year, and the sophomore Bredemier is making his first apperance.
Final tournament
MHS played its final tournament of the year May 9 at the Salina invitational. Hett took second overall, and three other Warriors placed in the 30.
