Union Good Friday service planned

Marion churches will gather for the Union Good Friday worship service at 1 p.m. Friday at Valley United Methodist Church.

Kennedy Mukwandidza, host pastor, will greet the congregation and lead in the call to worship and the reproaches. Judy Priest will read the first scripture lesson.

A combined choir, led by Bob Brookens, will sing an anthem and closing musical number.

Keith Allison, representing the Marion Ministerial Alliance, will help in receiving an offering for assisting people with needs.

Bob Priest will read the second scripture lesson and will give a sermon titled, "Today or Someday?"

During a time called Adoration at the Cross, Larry King will read various Bible verses as the congregation responds in singing Good Friday hymns.

The hour-long time of worship on the day of the passion and death of Jesus Christ is an opportunity for the people of Marion to gather in unity for celebration and devotion. Everyone is invited to attend.
