USD 408 discusses building project plans years ago

Sports reporter

Greg Tice of Spangenberg and Phillips architecture firm presented updated plans of the building project Monday to Marion-Florence USD 408 board of education.

Tice showed blueprints of what the proposed project, a gymnasium, auditorium, and indoor-outdoor pool facility, could look like if passed in an April bond election.

Tice had drawings of the proposed auditorium, set to be built somewhere between the Marion middle and high school building and gymnasium. The board discussed the best location between the two buildings for the auditorium to be built.

Spangenberg and Phillips is still finalizing the blueprints and no set plans have been approved.

Only preliminary plans have begun on the project, and the district, nor taxpayers, will pay any money if the project does not pass the April bond election.
