Vic Larson

Victor E. "Vic" Larson, 86, of McPherson, died Oct. 18, 2004.

Born Oct. 7, 1918, near McPherson, he was the son of John and Emma (Carlson) Larson.

He attended Morningstar country school and McPherson High School, then worked as a farmer, stockman, real estate agent, and auctioneer.

On April 25, 1942, he married Marie Eleanor Sellberg at Marquette.

He was a member of the National Farmers Union, McPherson Senior Center, McPherson Board of Realtors, and Kansas Board of Realtors. In addition, he was a member of Church of Christ McPherson and active in the adult Sunday school class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Darwin Arthur Larson, two brothers, George and Elmer Larson, and two sisters, Martha Hultburg and Freda Falk.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Larson of McPherson; a daughter, LaVonna Peterson of McPherson; two sons, Jerry Larson and Mark Larson, both of McPherson; a sister, Myrtle Lundberg of McPherson; a brother, Johnnie Larson of McPherson; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of Christ, McPherson, with Glen Elliott officiating.

Burial will be in New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural McPherson.

Memorial funds have been established with the church or Hospice Care of Kansas.
