Viola Gentry
Viola H. Gentry, 89, died March 2, 2005, at Lutheran Home, Herington.
The daughter of Peter and Osie (Loughner) Smith, she was born July 17, 1915, at Vradenville, Pa.
On May 11, 1944, she married James Rich at Duncan, Okla. He died in 1972.
On May 16, 1975, she married Ralph Gentry at Herington.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and her parents.
Survivors include two stepsons, Dale Gentry and Lynn Gentry, both of Texas; two brothers, Eugene Smith and Edgar Smith, both of California; and two sisters, Betty Battles of Wisconsin and Ruth Kandt of Manhattan.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel, with the Rev. Shawn Baird officiating.
Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with First Christian Church or Lutheran Home, Herington.
