Virgil Obermeyer
Virgil Eldon Obermeyer, 79, of Peabody, died Oct. 11, 2007, at Golden Living Center, Marion.
Born May 20, 1928, at Herington, he was the son of Edward and Irene (Beckel) Obermeyer.
On June 8, 1952, he married Evelyn Hess at Peabody.
He and Evelyn lived in the Peabody area until last fall, when he moved to Marion for medical assistance.
He was a farmer and metal machinist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Obermeyer.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; four sons, Kirby, Galen, Mark, and Brian; and a grandson.
Graveside services were Tuesday morning at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Nature Conservancy of Kansas.
