Virginia Dicks
Virginia Lorraine Dicks, 89, Longmont, Colo., died May 29, 2008, at Hospice Care Center, Louisville, Colo.
Born Feb. 9, 1919, at Marion, she was the daughter of Henry and Mildred (Schneider) Ollenberger.
She graduated from Herington High School in 1938.
On Feb. 26, 1939, she married Lee Edward Dicks at Herington.
She lived in Kismet, Florence, and Dorrance before settling in Hoisington in 1949, where she worked as a bookkeeper for Manweiler Chevrolet for 28 years. In 2000, she moved to Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Survivors include a son, Gary Dicks of Longmont, Colo.; sister, Wilma Granzow of Mesa, Ariz.; stepbrother, Dean Underhill of Zapata, Texas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.
Memorial funds have been established with the Clara Barton Foundation in Hoisington or Cinnamon Park in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington.
