Virginia Langford

Helen Virginia (Hall) Langford, 89, of Manhattan, died Feb. 14, 2005.

Born in Sterling, she was the daughter of Charles Albert and Grace (Brigham) Hall. The family moved to Topeka and later to Marion, where she graduated from Marion High School. She attended Kansas State College and graduated with high honors in home economics in 1937.

She taught high school for one year then married Roy C. Langford of Manhattan in 1938.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, her husband, Roy, and brother, Vincent.

Survivors include a son, Charles Langford of Corvallis, Ore.; a daughter, Jean Andrews of Santa Cruz, Calif.; sister, Betty McAuley of Anthony; brother, Robert Hall of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Manhattan, with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating.

Private family burial will be in Sunset Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with the Langford Memorial Fund at KSU Foundation, Friends of Konza Prairie, Manhattan Public Library, or the City of Manhattan — forester for tree planting.
