Vogel nabs top honor
Marion Warrior Dale Vogel earned recognition this week from the Wichita Eagle.
The paper named the senior to the Kansas All-Class 3A first team as an offensive lineman. Vogel, who also had 56 tackles, three sacks, and an interception to earn honorable mention as a defensive lineman, anchored one of the best lines in the Mid-Central Activities Association.
Junior running back Casey Nelson earned honorable mention honors at running back. Nelson finished with 1,107 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Josh Kelsey joined Nelson on the honorable mention list for his play as a defensive back. The junior, who also played quarterback, recorded 65 tackles on the season.
