Warnings issued for illegal parking at MES
Marion Police Officers issued numerous warning citations this past week to those illegally parked at Marion Elementary School.
Dec. 19: Traffic control was provided when a LifeTeam helicopter landed at St. Luke Hospital.
Tuesday: A telephone harassment complaint was filed. A theft report was made. An injured deer was killed by an officer after an accident on U.S.-56. An officer conducted DRAGNET program at Marion Elementary School.
Wednesday: Stolen property was returned to a church. A non-injury accident at Cedar and Sherman streets was investigated. An officer attended municipal court at the city building. Four warnings were issued for illegal parking at MES.
Thursday: Two warnings were issued for dogs barking. A warning was issued for illegal parking at MES. A runaway juvenile complaint was investigated; the juvenile was located and transported to juvenile intake at Junction City. Assistance was provided to Peabody Police Department and Marion County Sheriff's Deputies with a non-compliant prisoner at the county jail.
Friday: A lost motorist received assistance. Vehicle identification number inspections were conducted. Response was given to a child custody situation.
Saturday: A warning was issued to a semi parked in the 900 block of Hudson Street. An officer responded to a report of a reckless driver coming into Marion from U.S.-56; the vehicle was not located.
Sunday: Assistance was given to a lost motorist. An officer responded to a 911 hang-up in the 100 block of Eastmoor Drive; everything was OK; children were playing with a phone.
Officers drove 519 miles, and issued eight warning citations and made one arrest.
