Warrior wrestling wins bolstered by JV

When the Marion/Peabody combined high school wrestling team traveled Thursday to Eureka for matches against Eureka and Remington, it was anybody's guess as to how the team would fare.

"We had several kids out ill, and I had to sit three kids out because our schedule is three points over being full," Warrior head coach Chad Adkins explained.

Adkins bolstered the varsity squad by turning to his junior varsity wrestlers, and the move paid off with victories in both matches, 51-12 over Eureka, and 42-30 over Remington.

"It is nice to have a big group," said Adkins. "It was good to see some of our junior varsity kids competing in varsity competition."
