Way to go!
Congratulations, Marion! We did it! With the help and generosity of those who care about Marion, the Central Park Improvement Committee has surpassed its goal of $40,000.
The group has raised approximately $45,000 for new playground equipment in Central Park.
What began as a germ of an idea in the minds of a few people grew to become a major community endeavor. Through donations and fund-raisers, the goal has been realized.
This is what happens when a community pulls together. It's proof that people here can put aside their differences and work toward a common goal.
Anyone who had any part — no matter how large or small — should give themselves a pat on the back.
Now that we know what can be done, let's don't stop there. Let's hold on to that momentum and raise the remaining $30,000 by the February deadline.
Come on folks! It's the giving season. What's better than something that will benefit an entire community?
