Weather safety meeting planned
Weather watchers and residents interested in weather safety are invited to a presentation "Storm Fury on the Plains," at 6:30 p.m. March 29 at Marion City Auditorium, 203 N. Third Street, Marion.
Chance Hayes, warning coordination meteorologist from the Wichita office of the National Weather Service, will provide a two-hour severe weather training and education program about storms and severe weather safety.
The program is sponsored by Marion County Emergency Management and the National Weather Service Office, Wichita.

County lifts burn ban
Marion County Commission lifted a countywide burn ban that had been in affect for 10 weeks.
Measurable precipitation and additional moisture in the forecast made way for the commission to allow open burning.
The commission will continue to monitor conditions each week.
