Wedding: Gregory and Pamela Holub

Pamela Slayden of Lincolnville and Gregory Holub of Lost Springs were united in marriage March 13, 2004, at St. John Nepomucene Church in Pilsen. Father Paul Oborny officiated during the double-ring ceremony. Father Oborny and Father Steve Gronert concelebrated the nuptial Mass.

Parents of the bride are Patsy Owen of Arkansas City and the late John Owen. Parents of the groom are Gerald and Paulette Holub of Hesston.

Given in marriage by her brother, Steve Leith, the bride wore a white satin gown featuring long sleeves, a basque waistline bodice with a Queen Anne neckline and a heart-shaped opening on the back bodice. The full gathered skirt flowed into a royal-length train. Hand-beaded re-embroidered lace embellished the gown. She wore a single-strand pearl necklace. She carried a cascade bouquet of purple roses and white lilies accented with a Bohemian crystal rosary, a gift from the groom.

Kelsi Slayden served her mother as maid of honor. Pam Veach was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tina Delk, Wendy Rudolph, Ashley Hoffman, and Darlene Hubbard. They wore long, black, spaghetti-strap dresses with neck shawls. They carried single-stemmed purple roses accented with baby's breath.

Amber Holub was the junior bride. Callie and Kailyn Riffel were flower girls. They carried crocheted baskets made by the groom's mother.

Jason Stika served as best man. Groomsmen were Jeff Stenzel, Jeff Riffel, Tracy Rudolph, Brad Pagenkopf, and Zachari Slayden, son of the bride. Jarami Slayden, son of the bride, was the junior groom and Jalen Fluis was ring bearer. They carried pillows crocheted by the groom's mother. Steven Holub and Rosalie Holub proceeded down the aisle on a miniature John Deere tractor and trailer.

Ushers were Ed Svitak, Rob Delk, Gene Lanning, Shane Svitak, and Damian Svitak.

Jim Walker, uncle of the groom, was the lector. Gift bearers were Todd Svitak and Susie Wesel. Charlene Svitak, great-aunt of the groom, was the organist. Jeff Bina was the soloist.

Brenda Bernhardt was the guest book attendant. Ashleigh and Shelby Svitak were in charge of gifts. Jan Skiles was the coordinator. Church hostesses were Bob and Rosemary Neuwirth. Cathy Holub, aunt of the groom, designed and made all the flowers.

Brad Pagenkopf chauffered the couple to Pilsen Community Center where a buffet, reception, and dance were held.

Reception servers were Betty Stenzel, Mindi Svitak, Tammy Shaw, and Toni Love. Reception hostesses were Danny Rudolph and Debi Steele. Kathy Svitak prepared the buffet meal. Gene Vinduska, Jerry Vinduska, and Mark Vinduska of Marion provided polka music for the dance. Jay Herbers of Manhattan provided DJ music.

The couple is at home in the Lincolnville area. The bride is employed at Emprise Bank in Hillsboro. The groom is self-employed as owner and operator of Holub Farms.

Rehearsal dinner

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the church dining room March 12 for the bride and groom, their attendants, close friends, and relatives.
