Wedding: Jonathan and Ashlee Herbel

Ashlee Bowman of Lincolnville and Jonathan Herbel of Tampa were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. June 12, 2004, at Marion Christian Church in Marion. Pastor Curtis Wiens officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Sam and Dena Bowman of Lincolnville. The groom is the son of Willis and Eleanor Herbel of Tampa.

Grandparents are Lester and Ruth Tajchman of Lincolnville and Rosie Bowman of Ulysses.

Amber Bowman, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Dirk Lancaster of Lindsborg was the best man.

Bridesmaids were Stephanie Haws, Melissa Kaiser, and Danielle Engler. Flower girls were Kaylee Jones, niece of the bride, and Kaitlyn Krispense, niece of the groom.

Groomsmen were Brandon Hanschu, Matt Martens, and Jerry Fenske. Kordell Krispense, nephew of the groom, was the ringbearer.

Ushers were Eric Carlson, Brad Hajek, Andrew Miller, and Kevin Hett.

Christine Herbel, sister-in-law of the groom, was the wedding coordinator. Candlelighters were Aaron Bowman, brother of the bride, and Aaron Herbel, nephew of the groom.

Danielle Tajchman, cousin of the bride, and Danea Herbel, niece of the groom, were guestbook attendants.

Musicians were pianist Kristi Krispense, sister of the groom, and vocalist Dirk Lancaster.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown featuring two-tone embroidery with a split front overskirt and chapel-length train. Her fingertip-length veil was edged with satin ribbon attached to a princess tiara headpiece. She carried a mixed bouquet of white tiger lilies and two-toned pink roses.

The bridesmaids wore black georgette sleeveless empire-waist gowns with split-front chiffon overlays. They carried glass candle sticks adorned with coordinating florals.

A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. Paula Herbel, sister-in-law of the groom, made the wedding cake. Servers were Lisa White and Debbie Bowman, aunts of the bride, and Gladys Voth, aunt of the groom. Assisting in the kitchen were Jenise Reep, Dawn Kaiser, Barb Kaiser, and Marjorie Tajchman.

A wedding dance was held at Pilsen Community Center in Pilsen.

The bride, a graduate of Centre High School, is employed by Schwan's Food Manufacturing of Salina.

The groom, also a Centre High School graduate, earned a degree in management information systems in 2004 at Kansas State University. He is employed as a systems specialist for Advance Auto Parts in Salina.

Following a honeymoon in Kansas City, the couple resides in Salina.
