Wedding: Nolan and Melissa Brunner

Melissa Ann Stimac of Herington and Nolan Alex Brunner of Lost springs were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m. June 12, 2004, at St. John's Catholic Church in Herington. Father Mark Wesely officiated during the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of John and Rose Stimac of Herington. The groom is the son of Kent and Jean Brunner of Lost Springs.

Grandfather of the bride is Steve Stimac of Herington. Charles and Arlene Carlson of Burdick and Lauren and Orvell Brunner of Lost Springs are grandparents of the groom.

Linda Carlson, aunt of the groom, was the organist. Nancy Goracke was soloist. Jean Brunner, mother of the groom, sang "The Wedding Prayer."

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless chapel-length A-line gown by Paloma Blanca. The bodice featured a dropped waist and was adorned with amethyst and crystal beads with silver metallic embroidery. She wore a crystal tiara with a waist-length veil and carried a floral bouquet of two dozen sterling roses.

Sarah Stimac of Edwardsville served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Adriane Schultz of San Antonio, Texas, Amy Hanley of Salina and Jill Brunner of Manhattan, sisters of the groom, Sara Rosasco of Charlottesville, Va., and Jaime O'Rourke of Ames, Iowa. All wore black strapless A-line satin gowns with a chiffon overlay and empire waist by Jordan. Each carried a sterling rose.

Mothers of the bride and groom lighted the candles. Readers were Andrea Trapp, and uncles of the groom, Mike Carlson and Tracy Brunner. Emily Koch, cousin of the groom, was the bride's personal attendant.

Clayton McCullough of Steamboat Springs, Colo., was the best man. Groomsmen were Kevin Steiner of McPherson, Alex Utting of Phoenix, Ariz., John Hanley of Salina, brother-in-law of the groom, Josh Warson of Overland Park, cousin of the bride, and Joe Stimac of Herington, brother of the bride. All wore Ralph Lauren tuxedos.

Ushers were Gabe Schlickau, Kelley Steiner, and Mark Brunner, uncle of the groom.

Claire Severin, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl. Tucker Brunner, nephew of the groom, was the ringbearer.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Herington Community Building. Hosts were Mike and Linda Carlson, Ann and Bernie Koch, aunts and uncles of the groom, and Phil and Veronica Warson, aunt and uncle of the bride.

Cake servers were Emily Koch, cousin of the groom, Karen Olsen, Keri Alexander, Holly Donahue, and Olivia Wolf.

Arica Obermeyer and Amy Edmundson, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guestbook and gifts.

The bride, a graduate of Herington High School, received bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees from the University of Kansas. She is employed as a speech pathologist with Geary County Unified School District. The groom, a graduate of Centre High School, is a farmer/rancher in rural Lost Springs.

Out-of-town guests attended from Montana, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Oregon, North Carolina, and Missouri.

They plan to take a wedding trip in December 2004.
