Western Shindig to benefit Florence park
The members of Florence PRIDE Committee is making plans — BIG plans — and they need everyone's help.
A "Western Shindig" is being planned for July 28 at Veterans Park, Main Street, Florence.
The evening starts off with a cowboy meal at 6:30 p.m. followed by entertainment by "Sons of the Konza Prairie," a father and son musical duo who sing songs of the old West.
Mark Henkel and 17-year-old son Jacob, are Western Music Association Harmony Duo Champions for 2006.
This is a fund-raiser for major renovations at the park. Plans will be revealed that evening.
