LETTERS:   What a shame years ago

To the Editor:

I am writing to express my concern about a situation at our public library. This past week when I went to look for a DVD or video tape to check out, I read a notice put up by the librarians.

It states that "Due to the theft of some of the movies, they are no longer being displayed" (my paraphrasing).

How sad that our public library has to restrict the public from their materials. Our library has one of the nicest and most varied selections of movies, all available for free!

The library staff always is accommodating, finding books they don't have for inter-library loan, helping with research, aiding with computer usage, and many other duties. I'm sorry their valuable time and storage space will now be taken up with finding a video or DVD for you and your family to enjoy.
