Winkler named interim EMS director
Longtime EMS volunteer Gene Winkler of Marion was named interim director of Marion County Emergency Medical Services.
Following a 10-minute executive session to discuss personnel, Marion County Commissioners Randy Dallke and Dan Holub appointed Winkler as the interim director. Commissioner Bob Hein was absent.
Winkler currently is the crew captain of the Marion EMS crew.
Former director Larry Larsen of Peabody had resigned from the administrative position at the previous commission meeting July 23 which became effective immediately.
The commission instructed Marion County Clerk Carol Maggard to place advertisements in local newspapers to fill the position.
