Residents competed for prizes in various categories. Scarecrows are located in Ramona, Lincolnville, Tampa, Lost Springs, and Burdick.

The first round of scarecrow judging was completed by a county resident who went to the individual towns and selected top entries from each town. They went into a pool of entries and were judged by Marion County Commissioners Dan Holub and Randy Dallke, and Marion County Sanitarian Bobbi Strait.
