Worth every penny

Have you bought your tickets for the Marion High School musical production of "Beauty and the Beast?" Better hurry, they're going fast.

MHS students have been working for weeks and they'll see their hard work come to fruition this weekend.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Marion City Auditorium. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under for Friday and Saturday's shows, and are available at The County Seat or at the door the day of the show. Sunday's show is general admission.

Those of us who have attended in past years know what's in store. We wait all year to experience the stellar performances of our high school students.

If you've never been to a Marion High School production, you don't know what you're missing. Get your tickets now. It's the greatest show in town. You won't be disappointed.

This year's musical also marks the end of an era with this being the final performance at Marion City Auditorium. Next year, students will be on stage at the brand new fine arts complex at Marion High School. They'll finally have a state-of-the-art facility to go along with their award-winning acting and singing skills.

It's about time.

And, it's about the end of November. Have you made your donation to the Central Park Improvement Committee?

The Nov. 30 deadline is fast approaching and the committee must raise $40,000 by then for the park playground equipment.

A soup supper is being held tonight (Wednesday) at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Stop by for a bowl of soup and drop a few extra dollars in the till for the park equipment project.

If you can't attend tonight's function, stop by Marion City Office and make your donation to Becky or Angela.

The park project is something the whole community can support. Don't you want your children and your children's children to have nice, safe playground equipment when you visit Central Park?

Make your donation today.
