LETTERS: Wrong idea years ago
To the Editor:
On Aug. 21, I appeared at the Marion County Commission meeting because I felt that their asking for a tax increase due to the increase in petroleum products was ludicrous.
The commission stated that their cost had increased more than 100 percent between 2000 and 2006, and did not mention that tax revenue from oil and gas production had increased nearly 1,000 percent that was akin to an oil producer like myself bitching about the price of gasoline.
