Our sympathy to Mark and Lori Tajchman and Charles and Kay Tajchman from the Youngtown area and Frank Tajchman and Lanell and Aaron Hett from Marion, upon the death Oct. 11 of their mother, Angela Tajchman. Donna Kelly, Rita Kraus, and Vickie Smolik, with the help of many church women, served the funeral dinner to the Tajchman family. Friends reporting they attended the services were John Hayen, Virginia Downing, Charles Montgomery, Lois and June Jost, and Charles and Blanche Cowan. Leonard and Rosalie Klassen attended the visitation Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Vickie and Marv Fisher took Rosalie and Leonard Klassen to dinner this past Sunday to celebrate Rosalie's birthday. The Klassens got to see Aaron Fisher Friday evening in a play. Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm took Leonard and Rosalie Wednesday evening to a birthday dinner, then visited in the Timms' home. Leonard and Rosalie visited Monday with Kami Van Campen and Parker in McPherson. Parker is improving each day. Margaret and Ed Heins and Leonard and Rosalie had dinner together Friday evening, then visited in the Klassens' home.
Kristine Bateman was home this past weekend visiting her mother, Jeannine Bateman.
Leon and Cate Hayen were here one day this week visiting Dorothy and John Hayen, Virginia Downing, and Marilyn Geis. Cate is improving following her recent surgery. Dorothy Hayen, John Hayen, and Virginia Downing went to church Sunday at Eastmoor and then to dinner at Florence after church.
Rose Olive Hett was able to attend church Sunday at Eastmoor. David and Shirley Bowers visited this past week with Rose Olive in her new apartment.
Roseva McLinden is improving at Marion Manor. Betty Ireland visited with her Saturday and Darlene Schmidt visited Wednesday.
Luke Bowers went to the cross country regionals Saturday at Halstead.
The Kjellin family gathered this past weekend in Kansas City at the home of Phyllis and Gene Dettmer, daughter Char and Ken Keith, and Debby Firth and son, Jonathan. Local guests were Charles Kjellin, Mary Beth and Greg Bowers and Luke, Patty and Daryl Enos of Marion, Karen and Dale Kelly of Nixa, Mo., and Doug and Amy Kjellin, Erik, Andrew, and Adam from McPherson.
Russell and Stephanie Bowers, Zachary Bowers and son, Gabriel of Colby and Jason Bowers of Overland Park spent the weekend with Shirley and David Bowers. They were joined for dinner Sunday by Mary Beth and Greg Bowers and Luke. Shirley and David were at Bethel Saturday in Newton to watch Kelli Bunnel play volleyball for Southwestern College.
Marj and Emily Johnson came for dinner Sunday with me and we enjoyed a nice visit.
