Members of the Harmony Class at Eastmoor church, where Leonard Klassen is the teacher, gathered Wednesday evening at the Klassen home for a housewarming party. Hostesses were Mary Ann Timm, Margaret Hein, and Betty Batt. Others who enjoyed the evening were Rose Olive Hett, Evelyn Mott, Bula Good, Doris Ewert, Homer and Hazel Stiller, Aline Bernhardt, Ed Heins, Wilma Gilmer, Kenny and Tillie Schwendiman, Dorothy Coleman, Ruby Schroeder, and Mary May Hett.

Bert and Alice Jost visited Tuesday afternoon with Leonard and Rosalie Klassen. Nick and Norma Nickelson visited Saturday afternoon with the Klassens.

Janet Keazer brought me four roses from their garden Tuesday evening. I have been enjoying their fragrance all week. I have never seen such large home-grown roses.

Leonard and Rosalie Klassen, Shirley and David Bowers, and I attended the All Saints potluck dinner Sunday noon at Eastmoor.

Jeannine Bateman picked up her mother, Alvina Skibbe, Sunday from Newton and brought her to the farm for the day. It was a real treat for Jeannine to have her mother with her.

Edmund Steiner and Vicki Smolik attended a birthday celebration cookout Saturday evening at the home of Becky and Tim Makovec. Additional guests honoring Tim's birthday were Kathy and Paul Swan, Lori Herzet, Jerry and Faye Makovec, and Kim Kline.

Howard and Beth Collett and Keith and Anne Collett, Lucy and Caroline attended the last home junior varsity football game Monday evening. Beth and Anne left in the middle of the game to attend the middle school concert. Lucy Collett was in the chorus and played flute in the band. Howard and Keith stayed to see the end of the game. After the game and concert they all returned to the home of Anne and Keith for dessert.

Leon Hayen came from Topeka on Thursday and stayed until Saturday visiting his mother and other family and friends in the community. Leon and John took Dorothy Hayen Friday for dinner at McGillicuddy's Restaurant which was a thrill for Dorothy. Dorothy has been enjoying the trick-or-treaters who have come to St. Luke Living Center this weekend, especially the tiny people.

June Jost furnished the fish for a fund-raiser Friday evening at the senior center. Youngtown people reporting they attended were Shirley and David Bowers, Leonard and Rosalie Klassen, Virginia Downing, Marilyn Geis, and Lois and June Jost.

Skip Sieger, Jerry Kline, Gail Whiteman, and Caleb Abbott spent the weekend fishing at Lake Texoma in Oklahoma.

Jackie Hett was in Wichita Saturday helping Emily O'Sullivan of Lawrence celebrate her birthday. Those enjoying a cookout Sunday evening at the Hett farm were Melanie and Larry Ensey, Tammy and Jeremy Ensey and Peyton of Valley Center, Ken and Melinda Helmer of Andover, and Emily O'Sullivan and friend Noah of Lawrence.

Cy Goertz is doing well and misses his friends.

Shirley and David Bowers attended the Halloween costume party Saturday evening of the Come Join Us class at the home of John and Grace Yoder.

Mary Beth Bowers presented a wheat bread demonstration Saturday in Peabody at the women's retreat. Mary Beth was in Newton Thursday night at the Heartland Pregnancy Care Center banquet.

Faye and Jerry Makovec, Rita Kraus, Don and Vickie Kraus, Greg and Rose Davidson, and Marie Navrat helped Sunday night with the community Halloween party at St. Mark's Activity Center.
