Marion High School Key Club raked leaves Saturday as a community service project and they were here doing my big yard. What a great community service.

Rachel Davidson participated with her team in the quiz bowl Saturday at Andover. Greg reported they did well. Rachel also is practicing for the high school musical "Seussical the Musical" that is being performed Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon. Greg and Rose Davidson attended the 50th birthday party Saturday night for Mark Jones at the bowling alley.

Leonard and Rosalie Klassen went to Hutchinson Saturday to see their granddaughter, Ashley Fisher direct the comedy play entitled "The Curious Savage." The play was at Trinity Catholic School where Ashley teaches. Sunday afternoon visitors at the Klassens were Paul and Joan Klassen of Lehigh. Tuesday visitors at the Klassen home were Elmer and Leonore Klassen of Newton.

Cate and Leon Hayen came Friday to visit Dorothy Hayen. They had lunch with Virginia Downing and Marilyn Geis at the senior center, then visited with Max and Donna Hayen in the afternoon before returning to Topeka. Brent and Paula Hayen visit Dorothy often. I visited with Brent and Paula Saturday evening. Paula looks great. She has her hair back and said she has had it cut twice. They are living on their farm on Alfalfa Road.

Leann Thomas, a senior at Marion High School, was selected for all-NCAA East Division Volleyball League. Congratulations to Leann and proud grandma, Virginia Downing.

Ashley and Sam Ratzloff spent Friday night with Marie Navrat. Ron and Deb brought supper Sunday evening to Marie.

Howard and Beth Collett were in Peabody Tuesday for the historical society executive luncheon board meeting at Morgan House.

Vicki Smolik went to the Catholic workman dinner meeting Sunday at the Pilsen church basement.

Shirley Bowers attended UMW Wednesday evening at Eastmoor. Shirley and David ate breakfast Saturday morning at Eastmoor. David and Shirley and Greg Bowers went to the charge conference Sunday evening at Valley United Methodist Church and attended the dinner that followed.

Cy Goertz has moved into Hilltop Manor and needs to visit with his friends. David and Shirley Bowers have called on him several times.

Brent and Paula Hayen, Marilyn Geis, and I attended the harp concert Saturday night, featuring Greg Buchanan at Marion Christian Church. Vivian and Harold Conyers picked me up.

Skip Sieger flew Saturday to the Emporia airport and took part in a Veterans Day celebration. Eileen Sieger and Jackie Hett attended a Preserve the Heartland meeting Sunday afternoon at the home of Marcus Carlson. They voted to continue the organization and meet in three years.

Mike and Emma Stinchcomb of Solomon hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner Saturday for Charles and Rosalene Stinchcomb, Charlie and Barb Stinchcomb of Russell, and Charlene and Ralph Janzen of Hillsboro.
