Usually when someone resigns from a job it is immediate — not just a threat to get a pay raise. In many companies, when a person resigns or is fired, that person is escorted to their desk to pick up their personal items, then accompanied out the door. Not so in our city government.

It seems like administrators and managers sit at their desks and try to figure out how they can take more money away from us. It might be nice if they used some of their wonderful ingenuity to make better use of what they already have. That's what most taxpayers have to do. Many of us have reached the limit.

The public forum Sunday afternoon was a good idea. Unfortunately, it didn't give voters a clear idea of how the candidates felt about current issues. They each answered different questions, which were given to them in advance. They didn't answer any questions from the public. It wasn't a "forum" so much as a program demonstrating their ability to answer questions which they had time to prepare for in advance.
