What's wrong with the present jail? I see good tile roof, solid brick exterior, good foundation, very nice office, close to historic courthouse. I would like a new $160,000 combine but my $3,000 combine does the job just fine.

How wonderful it is that two new floral and gift businesses have chosen to open in Marion this spring! I will be eagerly awaiting more details, and plan to visit each of them just as soon as they are open. Marion — keep on growing! My best wishes for great success to each of them. They will be seeing me soon.

It was sad to see the demolition of the swimming pool but it's good to know Marion is being progressive.

If the Marion County Record has the "damned if I do, damned if I don't" task of reporting the news, good and bad . . . why didn't they bother to attend the Safe Routes to School public meeting to cover that event?

Why would the City of Marion want to elect a mayor whose only experience is mayor of Lincolnville? Do we want to use that as a guide to future progress? Or do we want to continue with the forward progress we are currently seeing in Marion with new businesses, new opportunities, new water plant, new streets, etc.? Think about that before you vote.
