Ag department seeks to streamline systems

A new “One Farmer, One File” program announced last week by the U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks to streamline farmers’ access to USDA services.

Separate filing systems maintained by Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources and Conservation Service, and Risk Management Agency will be unified.

The department hopes to complete the project in 2028.

USDA will, for example, use Login.gov to expedite Farmer Bridge Assistance payments to producers and make other deregulatory changes.
